2021-2022 School Year

ADMISSIONS & REGISTRATION 2021-2022 SCHOOL YEAR

We are excited that you are interested in becoming a part of the Navy Hale Keiki Ohana! Below you will find registration information for the 2021-2022 school year. Please read carefully and contact the administrative office if you have any questions.

CREATING AN ONLINE APPLICATION

Returning students do not need to fill out an online application. Please see the re-enrollment email that will be sent out on 1/13/2021 for instructions on how to re-enroll your child.

Please contact the NHKS Administrative Office before registering your child to ensure that there is space available.

To begin the Online Application process, Create an Account. Then log in to your account and Create A New Student Application for your child. You will then have the flexibility to log in and out of your account and access your open application.

After applying, you will track your admissions status at the school by logging in to your account. You will be able to print the completed application and monitor when the school receives supplemental application forms.

Your application is not complete until the fee has been paid and the packet is submitted.

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive an email notification with further instructions.

Please be aware that your child's enrollment is not complete or guaranteed when submitting the Online Application. Once the school receives your child's application, you will be notified of when you can begin the Online Enrollment process. Online Enrollment will be open to you on the date of registration for your child's grade level or status (see below). Further instructions on how to access and complete enrollment will be sent at a later date.

If you have not received an email from the NHKS Administrative staff verifying receipt of your application or an email notifying you that enrollment is now open, please contact the NHKS Administration at (808) 423-1727.

Note about Homeschool Transfers

Being that 2020-2021 school year provided a lot of academic strains, we understand more and more people opted for homeschooling their students for all or a portion of the year.

If you fall under this category please note we will require the following, in addition to any other required documentation for your application to be accepted:

  • Quarterly Report Cards to include grades for Language Arts (including handwriting and reading), Social Studies, Science, and Math.
  • Work Samples for each graded subject
  • Curriculum used for each graded subject
  • and/or any completed standardized testing

This only applies to students entering 1st-5th grade in the 2021-2022 school year who have been homeschooled (not the same as distance learning) for any amount of time in their academic history.

HOW TO APPLY

Applying is easy using our Online Application. A non-refundable fee of $25 must be submitted with each application.

The application for the 2021-2022 School Year will open on 1/13/2021. Even if your enrollment date is later, applying as early as possible is strongly recommended. NHKS sends our invitations for enrollment on a first-come-first-served basis, meaning the earlier we get your application, the better your chances of securing a spot.

Access the Online Application by clicking on the following link or pasting it into your browser: https://nhk-hi.client.renweb.com/oa/?memberid=2318

Family Interview

All new families must attend a Family Interview with a member of the Administrative Staff. Returning families with new students may skip this step.

You will receive a link in your enrollment confirmation email to schedule an appointment. \

Please do this as soon as possible to prevent delays in enrollment confirmation.

Enrollment Dates

Our enrollment season is from January to March and is opened in tiers beginning with our Returning Families and ending with New Civilian Families. During that time you have from the date of invitation received until the date of the next enrollment tier to fill out and submit your enrollment packet along with the registration fees and tuition deposit collected at the time of submission. Once the next tier has opened all incomplete enrollments will be closed.

January 13, 2021: Returning Students and Siblings (of current students) entering Preschool (3 years old)

January 26, 2021: New Military Preschool Students and Siblings (of current students) entering Prekindergarten through Fifth Grade

February 9, 2021: Waitlist Military Students (From 2020-2021 school year)

February 23, 2021: New Military Students

March 8, 2021: Waitlist Civilian Students (from 2020-2021 school year)

March 25, 2021: New Civilian Students

We maintain a rolling enrollment through the year, until spring break. If you received this invitation after our enrollment season has ended you have 48 hours to complete and submit your packet.  We will close the enrollment packet once that timeframe has passed.

Screening

All New Students must participate in a 5-day social, emotional, and academic screening for the first 5 days of school (8/2/2021-8/6/2021). Our screening takes place in the classroom and does not disrupt your student's schooling experience but instead uses that as a tool of observation.

During Screening, students are required to be walked in and signed in at the office, and a member of the administrative team will escort your student to their classroom. They will be brought to the office at the end of each day and will need to be picked up from there.

Enrollment is conditional until screening is completed.

*If enrolling after August 2, 2021, please contact NHKS Administration to discuss your start date options.
