Families
The family is a critical
component in the education of every child. Evidence
has shown that there is a strong relationship
between the involvement of the family at school and
the child’s academic achievement, attendance,
attitude, and continued education. At Navy Hale
Keiki School, there are many opportunities for
families to share in the educational experiences the
children enjoy. Parents serve on the Board of
Governors, chair events for the Parent Teacher
Organization, assist the Creative Arts teacher, and
volunteer in classrooms. There are numerous
opportunities for families to feel part of our
school ‘Ohana depending on individual interests and
time.
There is frequent communication from the school and
classroom to inform parents about events and/or the
progress of their child(ren). Communication includes
phone calls, progress reports, conferences, personal
notes, and newsletters.
